The Executive Team ensures statutory duties are carried out and provides support to the Police & Crime Commissioner. The team is made up of the Police & Crime Commissioner, Chief Executive, Chief Finance Officer, Director of Performance, Assurance and Oversight, Director of Communities, Partnership and Prevention and Director of Justice.

Police & Crime Commissioner

Emma Wools is in her first term as Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for South Wales, having been elected on 3rd May, 2024, with 45.2% of the public vote.

Lee Jones

Chief Executive and Monitoring Officer

Lee is the Head of the paid service and the Monitoring Officer, he is responsible for ensuring that the statutory duties are carried out.

Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Finance Officer has overall responsibility for the strategic direction, planning and management of the Commissioner’s financial management arrangements in accordance with professional standards, legislative and fiduciary responsibilities. This includes advising on the level of precept, reserve balances and robustness of the financial management arrangements of the Force.

Paula Bills

Director of Performance, Assurance and Oversight

Paula Bills is the Director of Performance, Assurance, and Oversight. Paula is responsible for providing leadership to ensure that South Wales Police is delivering high standards of service, performance and accountability. Paula is also responsible for deputising for the Chief Executive when required.

Sian Rees

Director of Justice

As Director of Justice, Sian leads the strategic development of criminal justice initiatives across South Wales, ensuring alignment with the Commissioner’s priorities outlined in the Police, Crime, and Justice Plan. Overseeing the Commissioners statutory duties related to criminal justice, Sian works to enhance system efficiency, foster integrated approaches to rehabilitation and victim support, and improve justice outcomes across South Wales.

Dr Cerys Miles

Director of Communities, Partnerships and Prevention

As Director of Communities, Partnerships and Prevention, Cerys leads on developing and maintaining strategic partnerships across public, private, and voluntary sectors to deliver effective crime prevention and harm reduction strategies. Cerys fosters collaboration between stakeholders to address the root causes of crime to develop holistic approaches to public safety, driving initiatives to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, whilst building community engagement, promoting social justice and inclusion.
