The Quality, Standards and Compliance team has a wide range of core responsibilities within the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office. The team is responsible for responding to public correspondence alongside managing a range of statutory responsibilities including:

  • Data Protection
  • Freedom of Information and the publication of certain Specified Information
  • Subject Access Requests
  • Management of complaints, including those relating to the Chief Constable
  • Conducting the review of police complaints pursuant to the statutory police complaints process
  • Appointing panel members to police misconduct hearings, the administration of Police Appeals Tribunals and the statutory pension forfeiture process
  • Oversight and scrutiny of the activities of South Wales Police’s Professional Standards Department
