Community Engagement

Engaging with communities across South Wales is an important aspect of the Commissioner’s role, as it helps to provide a richer picture of local concerns and enables the Commissioner to better undertake his duty to hold the force to account on behalf of the public.

Throughout the year, the Commissioner runs a number of community focus groups and visits, public surveys and events to ensure that communities across South Wales have the opportunity to share their views on matters relating to local policing.

To find out more about the Commissioner’s commitment to developing and conducting public engagement activity, read our Engagement Strategy. Our Engagement Strategy sets out our commitment to delivering meaningful engagement and the methods in which we will do this.

You can also read our 'Engagement Activity Report (2019-20) to see the number of engagement activities we conducted throughout the year and the impact of the feedback gathered.

If you would like to involve the Commissioner or his team in a local event that you're organising, ask him to meet with a local community group, or provide an input at an event, please contact us on:
