Police Precept and Budget

The Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales, Alun Michael, has set the police budget for 2023-24 as £358.7 million

The police element of council tax has increased by 7.4% – £27.36 a year (£1.86 a month). The total annual cost to a Band D household will be £324.47 per year for a 24 hour, seven days a week police service.
