On Sunday 23rd June, the Police and Crime Commissioner and members of the team attended Cardiff Mela in Cardiff Bay. The Cardiff Mela boasts a wide diversity of cultures, music, dance, art, fashion, and food. Throughout the day, visitors experienced live performances, children’s activities, and a variety of workshops and stalls.
The Commissioner’s team have been pleased to support and attend this event for several years and were eager once again to be part of the celebrations this year. The team spoke to hundreds of people throughout the day about the role of Police & Crime Commissioner and were able to hear valuable feedback from attendees about their local policing.
Attending the event, Police & Crime Commissioner, Emma Wools said “It is always a pleasure to attend this vibrant festival where people can come together to celebrate all cultures. Fostering positive relationships with diverse communities and seeking to work with local groups and organisations towards creating greater community cohesion is a priority for me both personally and professionally. Having a presence at community events like the Cardiff Mela provides a great opportunity for me and my team to increase awareness about my role and most importantly provide people with an opportunity to share their views and experiences with us”.
