JOB TITLE: Violence Prevention and Reduction Unit (VPRU) Principal Partnership Analyst

GRADE:  PO1/2- £41,487.00 – £47,046.00

BASED AT: The Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office at South Wales Police Headquarters, Bridgend

HOURS: 37 hours a week

TENURE: Fixed Term until 31st March 2028 (Funded by the Serious Violence Reduction Partnership Grant)

The South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is seeking a Principal Partnership Analyst to join the Violence Prevention and Reduction Unit (VPRU). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to South Wales’s multi-agency, public health approach to violence prevention, early intervention and system change.

The Violence Prevention and Reduction Unit (VPRU) Principal Partnership Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Violence Prevention and Reduction Unit (VPRU) to deliver its programme of work, which aligns with the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Police, Crime and Justice Plan (2025–2029), and the South Wales Violence Prevention and Reduction Strategy.

The post holder will provide high-quality, proactive support in relation to information, research and data collection, review and interpretation to the Head of the VPRU and the wider VPRU team.

Key responsibilities will include the supporting the VPRU to meet the duties of the Violence Reduction Grant and Serious Violence Duty, including supporting an understanding of the impact of funded interventions; undertaking an annual Serious Violence Strategic Needs Assessment (SNA); and working with local Prevention Partnerships to collate and analyse data for their respective SNAs. The role will involve supporting the delivery of violence prevention and reduction actions within the Police Crime and Justice Plan and the South Wales Violence Prevention and Reduction Strategy. The postholder will also support the data, analysis and insights requirements of the South Wales Violence Prevention and Reduction Strategic Board and subgroups.

The successful candidate will have experience in a Data Analyst and Insights role, be proficient in Microsoft applications and demonstrate a high level of computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet and database software including the complex manipulation of data. The successful candidate will be able to produce high quality, logical and structured reports and will be confident working in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment, and able to build strong working relationships across policing, health, education, local authorities, and the third sector.

The position is based in South Wales, however remote and agile working is in place.
