STATEMENT – Independent Office for Police Conduct Investigation into Fatal E-bike Crash.

Today the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has published its findings following an investigation into a fatal e-bike crash in Ely, Cardiff.

The IOPC has concluded that a South Wales Police officer should face a misconduct hearing in connection with its investigation.

A spokesperson for the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales said:

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales will carefully consider the detail of the IOPC’s report into Ely. We’d like to reiterate our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Kyrees Sullivan, and Harvey Evans, as well as those in the community that were affected by the rioting that took place. We know and understand the depth of feeling within the community and the PCC is entirely committed to ensuring lessons are learnt from this report and will make a full statement in due course.”
