What does it involve?
The Braver Choices programme aims to educate young people on the risk of weapon carrying including potential sentencing and exploitation.
It’s 12-week intervention is specifically designed for 8 to 18-year-olds and is delivered on a 1:1 basis, in a safe and comfortable environment. It is delivered in community settings from 8am to 8pm 7 days a week depending on the needs of the child/family.
Children and young people referred to the service will undertake an assessment that will identify needs and form the basis for a mutually agreed action plan to look at the safeguarding risks and laws regarding the carrying of knives and other bladed weapons.
