The Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales, Emma Wools, is seeking to appoint two Deputy Police and Crime Commissioners (DPCCs) to share the responsibilities of this pivotal role. Emma’s new vision, outlined in her recently launched Police Crime and Justice Plan, focuses on community-driven policing, early intervention, and stronger collaboration across public services. Each Deputy will work closely with Emma and play a key role in delivering the strategic priorities set out in her Plan. The two successful candidates will jointly support the Commissioner in holding South Wales Police to account, building strong relationships with partners, and ensuring community voices are heard across all parts of the region.

To ensure greater local responsiveness and representation across South Wales, each Deputy will be assigned a distinct geographical area and set of responsibilities, enabling a more focused and engaged presence in local communities.

This is a unique opportunity for two experienced and passionate individuals to contribute to the safety, justice, and wellbeing of people in South Wales under the leadership of Emma Wools. We welcome applications from individuals with strong leadership skills, experience of public service, and a deep commitment to public engagement, and accountability. A strong understanding of equality and diversity and the communities of South Wales will be critical.

To apply please provide your CV and a supporting statement  (no more than 2 sides of A4) stating how your knowledge and experience meet the key responsibilities of the role along with the personal details and monitoring information form. Please submit to HRCommissioner@south-wales.police.uk
