Dewi’s T-shirt Competition
Throughout our 2024 summer events, Dewi was looking for children and young people to use their creative skills to design him a new t-shirt.
Over 300 children and young people from all across South Wales took part in the competition, and each of their brilliant designs put before Dewi and the Commissioner to be judged. 4 finalists were chosen, lots of prizes handed out, and one ultimate winner!
Congratulations to all who took part and to our amazing winner! Dewi will be wearing his new t-shirts with pride at our future events.

Naming our mascot
Throughout our 2023 summer events, we invited children and young people to take part in helping us to name our mascot. Name suggestions were then placed in our ‘house token box’ and categorised alphabetically.
We were pleased to received over 405 submissions from children and young people during this period, with over 300 different names suggested.
The name that received the highest amount of votes was….DEWI!!!! To mark the launch of our Welsh mascot, we revealed the name on ‘Shwmae Su’mae Day’, an annual celebration of the Welsh language, which encourages people to share the Welsh language with each other.
