Out and about in your community

Listening to the public is a fundamental aspect of the Police & Crime Commissioner’s role.

Recently, your Commissioner, Emma Wools has been ‘out and about’ visiting several communities across South Wales, speaking to businesses, community groups, councillors, front line staff, PCSOs and people in the street. These conversations are playing an important role in shaping Emma’s Police & Crime Plan, which will set out the objectives, priorities and needs relating to policing, crime and criminal justice in South Wales.

So far conversations have covered anti-social behaviour, shoplifting, drug and alcohol use, visible policing, personal safety, hate crime, gang culture, support for victims of crime, discrimination, violence against women and girls, funding for crime prevention schemes and new approaches to community empowerment.

Speaking directly to local people, victims and communities about the issues concerning and impacting them where they live or work, and their experiences of local policing in South Wales has been vital in ensuring the priorities developed within Emma’s Police and Crime Plan reflect the needs and views of local people.

If you would like to share your feedback about policing and criminal justice, please take part in the Commissioner’s survey – https://lynngroup.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_a3PHm5Sir8r6r78

Paper copies of the survey, including large print and Easy Read are available by contacting our office: commissioner@south-wales.police.uk / 01656 869366

Survey closes on Friday 4th October
