Police and Crime Commissioners in Wales to provide evidence on Police Reform at Parliament’s Welsh Affairs Committee.

On Wednesday 8^th of July 2026, the Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) in Wales will attend Westminster to provide evidence at the Welsh Affairs Committee.

MPs have requested to hear from the PCCs in Wales regarding the proposed changes to PCCs and force structures, as well as topical crime issues facing Wales, as part of the evidence session.

All four PCCs will be asked to provide evidence against several specific questions that will focus on the deliverability of the White Paper reforms, the future of policing governance in Wales, and the potential impacts of structural changes such as force mergers and the creation of a National Police Service. This will include consideration of the role of Welsh Government, the extent to which Welsh priorities and local accountability can be maintained, and how effectively cross-border challenges can be managed.

The questions will also address workforce commitments, including the proposed increase in officer numbers, and examine whether current and future funding arrangements for Welsh forces are fair and sustainable.

Overall, the focus will be on ensuring that any reforms strengthen policing while protecting the needs and interests of communities across Wales.
