As Head of Commissioned Services, Lisa leads the strategic planning and delivery of commissioning activity cross South Wales in collaboration with colleagues across the Commissioner’s office, ensuring alignment with the Commissioner’s priorities outlined in the Police, Crime and Justice Plan. Lisa also works with wider partners, leading our work on substance use and mental health policy.

Main Responsibilities

Lisa works to commission and monitor the Substance Use Recovery Interventions for Justice Services contract that supports people leaving prison or who are engaged with His Majesty’s Prison and Probation service with a substance use need, to assess, engage and divert individuals out of crime and into appropriate levels of interventions, supporting the reduction of drug and alcohol related harm, and reducing levels of offending.

Lisa works in collaboration with South Wales Police and partners to support the delivery of priorities two, three and four within the Police, Crime and Justice Plan.

Lisa does this by using the many levers available to the office, including via partnership working with the Area Planning Boards across South Wales that share the responsibility for developing, delivering and improving efficient and effective substance use services, to meet the needs of the population. Working to deliver on the Welsh Government’s Substance misuse delivery plan.
