Domestic Abuse from Fear to Freedom
We are pleased to share the From Fear to Freedom – A Guide to Domestic Abuse booklet, a valuable new resource developed through a partnership led by Soroptimist International Wales South and launched earlier this year.
Created in collaboration with partners from across South Wales, this guide aims to help individuals better understand domestic abuse, recognise the warning signs, and know where to seek support. It offers clear, accessible information for victims and survivors, as well as for friends, family members, and professionals who may be supporting someone experiencing abuse.
This resource reflects the strength and importance of partnership working across the sector, bringing together professional expertise, lived experience, and a shared commitment to improving support for those affected by domestic abuse.
We would like to thank everyone involved in its development. We believe this guide is an important addition to the range of resources available and will make a meaningful difference.
We would encourage you to take a few moments to explore the resource, and to share it with colleagues, networks, and anyone who may benefit, helping us extend its reach to those who may need it most.

“I strongly support the Soroptimists’ work in producing high-quality, informative resources for victims of domestic abuse. By equipping individuals with clear information and practical guidance, these materials contribute to a more informed, and empowered response to abuse, and complement the wider partnership effort to improve support and outcomes for victims.”
Megan Stevens Head of VAWG and Safeguarding
“We are so pleased to have been in a position to bring together survivors, professionals, and partner organisations to develop the From Fear to Freedom guide. By combining lived experience with professional expertise, we have created a practical resource designed to inform, empower, and support women affected by domestic abuse. We hope it will make a meaningful difference to those who need it most. Please help us extend the reach of this resource by sharing it widely through your networks, so that more women know where to find support, information, and hope when they need it most”
