An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Office of the South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, at a crucial time of considerable change. The Head of Communications & Engagement will be responsible for leading the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner’s (OPCC’s) communications and engagement activity for the remainder of the Commissioner’s term, ensuring that key stakeholder relationships are maintained and the public is communicated with effectively about the work of the Office as we move through a period of transition.
The postholder will need to quickly develop strong relationships across the OPCC, with South Wales Police communications colleagues, the media, and other key stakeholders to drive forward a cohesive, evidence-based and impact-focused programme of communications & engagement activity at pace.
This is a key leadership position in the Communities, Partnerships & Prevention Directorate, requiring a dynamic, high calibre, influential individual, who can work strategically whilst adapting to change, with a working knowledge of the communications and engagement landscape across South Wales.
