On Saturday 29th June, South Wales Police Headquarters opened its doors to the public for a fun filled day, where people of all ages could get behind the scenes of Police departments and learn more about the different roles in policing.

The family-friendly day included a range of attractions, activities, guided tours, and demonstrations to delight all ages.

Members of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s team had plenty on offer at their stall, ranging from personal safety items, children’s activities and their ‘house token boxes’ capturing feedback about ‘what matters to you’.

Police & Crime Commissioner, Emma Wools said “Family orientated policing events like this are vitally important in helping to build relationships between residents and local policing. Having the opportunity to showcase the vast number of roles and functions enables South Wales Police to provide a better understanding of how the police use technology, equipment, and vehicles to carry out their duties. It was a pleasure to see that over 5,000 visitors attended the event and how engaged people were at the various stalls that were present throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak to me personally and those who shared their feedback with my team.”
