Last weekend, Commissioner Emma Wools and members of the team attended the Chinese Heritage Day & Dragon Boat Festival. The event, run by Chinese in Wales Association (CIWA) and held in St Fagans Museum of History, was the first of many coming summer engagement events the Commissioner and team will be attending.
Chinese in Wales Association is a charitable organisation dedicated to connecting, supporting, and improving the lives of ethnic Chinese residents in Wales, whilst building a more inclusive Wales through community-led, grassroots approaches.
The self-styled “day of laughter and memories,” was a fun-filled celebration of Chinese cultural heritage for family and friends. It provided the platform for communities to come together and share their personal stories with one another.
Commissioner, Emma Wools said: “This was a wonderful event to attend and a brilliant opportunity to speak to people about the issues that matter to them. Understanding people’s views and experiences is a vital part of my role and will be fundamental in shaping the development of my Police & Crime Plan in the coming months. I would like to thank Chinese in Wales Association for their dedication towards improving the lives of Chinese communities in Wales. I look forward to working together with Chinese in Wales Association to help promote community cohesion and build positive relationships with Chinese residents in South Wales.”
