The Police & Crime Commissioner is responsible for seeking feedback from the public about matters relating to policing in South Wales. This includes proposals in relation to setting the police precept for South Wales Police and understanding people’s views and experiences in relation to local policing.

In addition to scheduled community engagement activities throughout the year, the Commissioner also launches an annual community survey to seek feedback from the wider public about:

  • policing priorities / community concerns
  • views and feedback on the service provided by South Wales Police
  • police precept contributions (the amount we contribute towards policing as part of our Council Tax)

The information and feedback gathered from our survey assists the Commissioner’s decision in considering the options for setting the police precept (the amount people pay towards policing as part of their Council Tax) and enables us to to consider the delivery of community safety work.

The results from previous community surveys are summarised in the below reports.
